OOLONG
Oolong-traditionen föddes i Fujianprovinsen på Kinas sydöstra kust och provinsen är fortfarande en ledande producent, även om man på senare tid fått se Taiwan utvecklas till en jämlike. Medan grönt te produceras överallt i Kina är oolongteet i hög grad koncentrerat till de södra delarna av landet. Här är klimatet subtropiskt och fuktigt så teodlingarna ligger i de svalare bergstrakterna. Uppe i de ruffa otillgängliga bergen är förutsättningarna för odling mycket speciella och skiljer sig från teregioner längre norrut i Kina. Här är det berg, robust natur, hög fuktighet och plantorna växer sig ofta stora som träd till skillnad mot de små nätta tebuskarna som växer i de nordligare teregionerna i Kina.
Oolong Tea
The Oolong tradition was born in Fujian Province on China's southeast coast and the province is still a leading producer, although more recently Taiwan has seen it develop into an equal. While green tea is produced everywhere in China, oolong tea is highly concentrated in the southern parts of the country. Here, the climate is subtropical and humid, so the tea plantations are located in the cooler mountain regions. Up in the rugged inaccessible mountains, the conditions for cultivation are very special and differ from tea regions further north in China. Here there are mountains, rugged nature, high humidity and the plants often grow as large as trees in contrast to the small, pretty tea bushes that grow in the more northern tea regions of China.
