Bi Luo Chun,

also known as Pi Luo Chun - 洞庭山 碧螺春, is known for its rich flavor and lingering floral aroma. The name, meaning "blue snail spring", was inspired by the tea's delicate spiral shape that resembles a snail's shell. Our Bi Luo Chun comes directly from its origins in the Dong Ting Mountains on Lake Tai in Jiangsu Province, China. This protected natural area has the perfect climate, soil and rainfall, making the Dong Ting Mountains ideal for growing tea bushes. For hundreds of years, local farmers have grown tea bushes side by side with fruit trees, giving Bi Luo Chun its famous floral and fruity aroma.

Bi Luo Chun prices can vary greatly depending on the harvest season, leaf quality and whether the tea is purchased through intermediaries. Our Bi Luo Chun is harvested directly from the region of origin in early spring, which gives it the freshest and richest flavor. By sourcing directly from family farms, we are still able to offer this tea at an affordable price.

Bi Luo Chun is often ranked number 2 or 3 among China's ten most famous teas, after West Lake Dragon Well and Huangshan Maofeng. For tea lovers who don't like the beany and nutty flavor of Dragon Well or the lightness of Huangshan Maofeng, Bi Luo Chun's fuller grassy flavor is a perfect alternative. Even lovers of Xinyang Maojian tend to appreciate Bi Luo Chun.

To brew our Bi Luo Chun, which is very delicate, we recommend that you brew it at a temperature of 85ºC or lower. When brewing in a large teapot or mug, use 3-4 grams of tea leaves and leave for 3-4 minutes. Alternatively, you can use a traditional Chinese Gaiwan and jetty with 6-8 grams of tea to enjoy up to 12 brews. Apply a brewing time of about 20 seconds and gradually increase brewing time after the fourth brewing. Adjust the bridge parameters to taste; If the tea feels too strong, you can lower the temperature or shorten the brewing time.
