Green Pu Erh Tuo Cha 2020 is a classic example of the raw, green style of pu erh from Yunnan Province in China. This tea is pressed in the traditional bowl shape, called Tuo Cha, which makes storage easy and provides natural protection for the leaves. The harvest is from spring 2020, a time when the tea leaves are at their most vital and full of flavor. Like all green pu erh, also called sheng, this cake develops complexity over time. At a younger age it offers a fresh, vegetal character with notes of herbs, hay and a light florality. With aging the flavors mature and deepen into rounder, softer and more earthy nuances.

Brewing a Tuo Cha is a journey in itself. The leaves gradually loosen with each infusion, producing a flavor profile that changes cup by cup. This 100 gram cake is ideal for both long-term storage and daily consumption by tea lovers who want to explore the unique spectrum of pu erh. A tea for collectors as well as curious connoisseurs.

For this tea, we suggest you try the traditional Chinese Gong Fu style of brewing your tea. The idea behind this technique is to use larger proportions of tea leaves to water and very short brewing times. By using more tea leaves and having very short brewing, you only succeed in extracting parts of the entire flavor spectrum. The tea can then be enjoyed in so-called "sections", which gives a much more nuanced experience. Because the flavor develops gradually and there are many more leaves, this contributes to a significantly more intense flavor than in Western-style brewing.
