A rustic, simple tea that is very popular in Japan. The tea consists of a Sencha, which is flavored with roasted rice (genmai) and gives an unmistakable roasted flavor. Genmaicha is excellent for flavorful dishes where a finer tea would be lost. Thanks to its low caffeine content, this tea is popular to drink later in the evening.

The roasted rice grains give the tea a unique, slightly smoky flavor with notes of popcorn, while the green tea leaves add freshness and umami. This results in a mild, balanced cup that is neither too bitter nor too strong, making Genmaicha an excellent choice for those new to green tea or looking for a lighter, more relaxed tasting experience.
